Signs and Symptoms - Liverpool

Well, bakery products certainly shouldn't be in the stationery department; nor the meat department, nor the toiletries department. Hmm I wonder where bakery products should be?

Ah! The Bread Department! Wouldn't have guessed. Never thought of that.

My brother's travels

Hello everyone,

I was away surfing at a little African village 1400km away from where I live. Total commuting time was almost 19 hours, but it was well worth it. Surfed in the rain/almost storm, which was incredible. The waves were higher than I was, and crashing into it felt like I was in a washing machine, with rocks and pebbles. Had to get out early because there were bluebottle jellyfishes around… Heard that a sting from one of them isn’t too pleasant.

Stayed in a nice and cheap backpacker, owned by a former surfing champion-turned-semi-hippie-guy. Even got some local food from the nearby village. Its called UmngQusho. Pronounced “um-click-oo-shoo”. When I say click I mean a dental click by clicking your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Yep, like the Bushman clicks in “The Gods Must Be Crazy” movie, remember that?

They’re Xhosa people, an African Tribe/Ethnicity that is loosely Zulu-with-Bushman-influence. Umngqusho is made from Samp and Cowpeas. Looks abit like mama’s nutritious but mushy porridge, except its not all that nutritious. Tastes not too bad (although most farang can’t stand it) I helped finish 2 extra bowls from the farang sitting next to me. The village headman’s wife was very impressed. I was a little bit afraid that when she hugged me she’s not going to let go.

Anyways, I’m glad my exams are finally over, and Mama & Che are visiting in 2 and 3 days time respectively. It will be fun!

Love,
Thiyachai

PS Che, haha are you already thinking about how many "tables" your wedding will have? Hahahaha, make sure there is karaoke for the uncle-auntie too!! Yaaaaaaaam- sengggggg
