Birmingham

Was in Birmingham over the weekend to see some old friends. Devan & Sharmalar and their cute 8 month old daughter, Sharanya are in Birmingham for a couple of years doing research. Sharanya is doing research into the wonderful world of babies, ie discovering herself. I daresay, so are her parents.
And a friend from high school, Yu Ting, I haven't seen for more than ten years. She kindly took me around the sights of Birmingham including the shopping areas of the Bullring (don't know why it's called that really apart from a bull in the square) and the distictive Selfridges building(a department store) with the silver dots.
Also walked around the done-up areas of Birmingham's old canals around Brindley Place.

Signs and Symptoms - Dangers

In Denver, Colorado you can escapre from tornados by hiding in public toilets. At least there is water supply.
Sign in a New York lab, some labs are even more hazardous. What can you think of to put in the empty slot?
Sign in Kyoto, Japan. The Japanese are supposed to be very neighbourly.
Not quite a tsunami warning but this sign on Vancouver Island in Canada is pretty graphic (despite having no pictures).
